About

I’ve been writing most of my life.  I’d like to think that some of it was better than average, but I know that a lot of it wasn’t.

Much of it hasn’t even been prose or poetry, but rather software.  It’s fun discovering the differences and the similarities in writing for a silicon audience versus a human one.

The silicon audience:

  • Will tell you very quickly that you don’t have it right.
  • Is very sure when you don’t have it right.
  • Frequently can’t tell you how far you have yet to go to get it right.

The human audience:

  • May reserve judgement for a while before telling you that you don’t have it right.
  • Is very sure when you don’t have it right.
  • With some interrogation, can tell you how far you have yet to go to get it right.

At present, the silicon audience vastly outnumbers the human one.  Perhaps at some point in the future, that ratio will flip.
